Beginner Old Time Back Up Guitar: We will start out by learning to play the basic D, G, A and C chords, how to use our pick and play a basic BOOM CHUCK strumming technique. We will work on playing back up to some simple songs and accompany an old time fiddle tune. Learning to play by ear and following a new song/tune is important and we will start to develop your learning by ear skills! Intermediate Old Time Back Up Guitar: This class will work on adding additional chords such Em, Am, F and Bm which will allow us to play in more keys. We will continue adding in a variety of bass runs between the chords and some melody as well! We will also work on adding speed, precision, tone and musicality to your playing and how to listen for chords and chord changes with new tunes and songs. INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIALS Our local store in Staunton FRETWELL BASS has a good selection of instruments and accessories and they can order items not in the store too!
