Jack Layne

Jack Layne has 16 years’ experience in public school music, teaching PK-High
School. Teaching in the Kodaly, World Music Drumming, Orff and Dalcroze
modalities, along with conducting Choirs, Band, Orchestra, Handbells and Choir
Chimes for students to fully embrace the music within them. Seeing students
delight in music and the light bulb coming on for a student is what Jack seeks for
all students.
Jack got into World Music Drumming in 2006 and has had 4 different ensembles
in schools and churches in Northern Virginia. Jack is looking forward to sharing
with participants at Queen City Music Workshop, the drumming experience
alongside the cultural aspects that the drumming developed.
