Family Music For Babies & Toddlers

From 5 months to 3 years

This Family Music for Toddlers class is a new video-format offering in which Molly has pre-recorded four weekly lessons for you and your child to enjoy together at home.

Together you’ll sing, chant, move, dance, listen, and play simple instruments: all activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement through the action packed Dance With Me curriculium. Each lesson features movement activities for coordination, body awareness and control, exploration of space, and instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingles, rattles, drums, and resonator bars.

Feel free to incorporate any simple rhythm instruments that you have a home! The beauty of the at-home video version is that you may enjoy them however requently you want, and you get lots of guided practice with each song and activity.

As a licensed Musikgarten teacher, Molly is required to have families purchase the Family Materials packet that comes with a 54 track CD of great quality music, an accompanying book with songs, music, and parent info about the function of each activity, and a scarf to move and dance with.  These packets are an additional $40 on top of the tuition fee, and they are a gift that keeps on giving since you'll have your own copy of the music on both CD, and a downloadable digital version for your devices. The whole family can join in the fun as you create a fun, musical environment for your toddler to explore music!

CLASS OFFERINGS
Molly's Musikgarten classes have been available in Staunton, Lexington, and Charlottesville and will have future programs there once school re-open. The video option is the only class offering available at this time.
Family Music for Babies

We spend our 30 minute class singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening, and playing simple instruments-- all activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement for coordination, body awareness and control.

With their grown-up, kids as young as birth learn music principals in a safe environment for exploration of space, and instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingles and drums, and parents get important bonding time and with their child.

Toddlers to 3 Years

Children are naturally drawn to music.  By engaging your children in music classes you are not only giving them a “leg-up” on their musical development but on all other educational pursuits as well.  Since Musikgarten involves the whole family, there are positive social implications as well. As we sing, bounce, rock, dance, and play instruments together we are laying the foundation necessary for success in music, and you will delight in the endless energy of your children as they develop in this wonderful, musical environment!

Testimonials...

"The "Do oh do" and "hello/goodbye" songs have been stuck in our heads all afternoon! Haden now claps and taps hello and goodbye to everything and it has been an enormous help for transitioning him from one activity to another. He also loves dancing with my scarves now. Thank you so much for starting this class. It is making such a wonderful difference"

-Amy Tesich

They get huge smiles on their faces when we walk into class and see Molly. I am so grateful for this class and Molly!"
