Bill's Biography

Bill Wellington is an excellent player and teacher of the guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin. He has performed as a soloist and in numerous bands on all of these instruments throughout his 45-year musical career. He is currently a member of two bands: Beverley Street String Band and The Bouncers.

Bill has given private lessons for many years and has also taught at The Augusta Heritage Center, John C. Campbell Folk School, Pinewoods Camp, and other folk institutions. He teaches all levels of players, from complete beginners to very advanced students. Bill is well-known as the creator of Radio WOOF, a series of audio recordings for children. He lives in Staunton, VA.
