Molly's Biography

Molly’s love of music came at an early age, singing in choirs from age 4 in the Hudson Valley of New York, participating in all the school musicals, and making music with her family for as long as she can remember. Stuart Hall School’s Visual and Performing Arts program brought Molly to Staunton, VA in 1999, and she attended James Madison University where she continued to study music from 2003-2006. 

Her performing career in music began with her first band, The Bourbon Specials, based in Charlottesville, VA in 2005. A few years later, she and a group of  family and friends formed The Judy Chops, and have been performing regionally, as well as up and down the east coast since 2008.  “Molly’s solid musicianship and dedication have been the background for the band’s solid arrangements.” - W. Howard, Harrisonburg, VA. She plays guitar, sings, writes, and arranges as a founding member of The Judy Chops, and also performs in varying ensembles and as a solo artist.

Molly is the owner of Queen City Music Studios and has been teaching professionally since 2015. Established in 2016, the school began as a private, alternative school of music for learning by ear. As a licensed & certified Musikgarten teacher, Molly’s Musikgarten offers Family Music classes that focus on early childhood development. Molly is also a part-time member of the teaching staff at The Front Porch, a Roots Music School in Charlottesville, VA. (www.frontporchcville.org)
